State of Texas Insurance Code No. 541.060-It is an unfair act to misrepresent an insurance policy by making a statement in a manner that would mislead a reasonably prudent person to a false conclusion of a material fact.
Lots of insurance companies have contracts to send business to set body shops. While this greatly benefits the shop and insurance company, it harms you the consumer. Insurance companies generally funnel their customers toward shops that cut corners on equipment and time that go into restoring your automobile to the factory standards you deserve. Therefore, take your insurance company's advice with a grain of salt, and do your own research into which shop is right for you.
Only the bodyshop business can grant a guarantee of your repairs. Your work is guaranteed by the shop and the shop only. Insurance companies cannot guarantee work performed by an independently owned shop.
